Can a plastic cell phone case cause a phone to freeze a lot?

I just got a new phone and a week later when i got the new case, my phone started crashing and not turning on until i reset the battery.

i don’t really think so..have you dropped it or spilled something on it? my phone freezed all the time for no reason at all. it’s crazy how stuff just stops working
